Hostelling International Malaysia Continues Support for Orang Asli Community

Hostelling International-Malaysia has been organizing The Orang Asli Community and Charity / Back to School Program since 2016. This program was initiated by the late Mr. Norazif bin Nordin, who was a member of our Exco. The program took place on January 24, 2025, at Kampung Orang Asli Pos Manson, Cameron Highlands to assist about 60 families this year. We would like to express our gratitude to Richiamo Coffee SB, Pusrawi Hospital and YTM Undang Johol for their support and also our thanks go out to all the members and well-wishers who have contributed to the program

HI-Malaysia President, Tuan Haji Hamirudin bin Hashim led the program, and it involved 15 members/volunteers and 5 staff members from Pusrawi Hospital, with one doctor, two nurses, one marketing, and one legal

At 8:30am, the program began with everyone meeting at restaurant As Bismi Maju in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur for breakfast; they then set off for Cameron Highlands, Pahang at 9:30am. Our arrival at Kampung Orang Asli Pos Manson was at approximately 2:45pm. The program began at 4:00pm with a speech and free medical exam for Orang Asli children and elderly residents by the Pusrawi Hospital staff. The food basket, school bag, and stationery were distributed to all the families present at the event by us.

Nuggets, sausages, and fries were served to the children of the Orang Asli village once the food basket was handed out. The program was well received and another program will be held later after Hari Raya
